Artist Paul Harfleet's research explores the implications of identity, citizenship and its influence on the navigation and memory of the urban environment. He augments and re-contextualises various sites and objects by allocating them with new meaning or significance often through intervention, photography and sculpture, particularly with The Pansy Project where the artist plants pansies at the site of homophobic abuse. Alongside this on-going activity Harfleet continues to expand his practice through writing, photography, drawing and sculpture. Harfleet is a London based artist who has exhibited worldwide, most notably with The Pansy Project which has been included in festivals and exhibitions from Berlin, Liverpool, London, New York and most recently at 'Truth is Concrete' in Graz, Austria.
